Hillberg & Berk, a Canadian jewellery company, opened in Bower Place October of 2021 and now has 12 retail locations across Canada with more opening every year. If you’ve been by Bower Place in the last few months, chances are this GORGEOUS, pretty-in-pink store (or all the sparkly jewellery neatly arranged on their shelves) caught your eye. PLUS, they have a stunning pink Christmas tree up right now, too!
Fun fact: the pink textured walls were created by an artisan in limestone to give the store dimension and texture.
This store was made to feel like a jewellery box, where guests can step inside to touch, feel, and experience the jewellery. And trust us . . . you’ll definitely want to try these sparkles on.
It gets better. Their brand is female-driven, and they believe when a woman rises, we all rise (which is a mantra we can get behind). Founded by Rachel Mielke and started at her kitchen table, they are here because of women, infusing women’s empowerment into everything they do.
“Our jewellery is emblematic of the boldness and brilliance every woman already possesses within herself. Our business is centered around connecting and empowering women. In everything we do, the reason is women.”
The re-launch of their Sparkle by H&B collection features fresh new styles like their Sparkle Hoops! They take one of their most-loved styles, the Sparkle Ball™ Stud Earrings and reimagines them into new silhouettes. The mini hoop design is well-loved by their clients (and us, too!).
It was important to H&B as a new member of Red Deer’s community to step up and support critical work being done by the Outreach Centre (who also happens to be our 2021 charity of choice). H&B gave a percentage of profit from their opening month and matched client donations for a combined total of $3,400 in only 30 days!
Maia is a classic Central Albertan gal who KNOWS her way around Bower Place . . . she grew up exploring it! If she’s not scouting the best of The Great Indoors, she’s probably strapping on her hiking pack to escape to the mountains or grabbing her cowboy boots (she’ll never say “no” to a rodeo). She has a love of free-spirited 70s vibes including eclectic accessories, bright colours, and fun patterns.
