With #selfcaresunday becoming more and more of a thing (for good reason!), I’m sharing a few skincare all-stars from my makeup bag (all from Sephora and all good for use on Sundays or any other day of the week ending in “y”):
Youth to the People Age Prevention Superfood Cleanser
Anyone who knows me knows . . . I loooove superfoods whether to eat or put on my face. The good news is that you could eat this if you wanted to . . . not that you would but, I’m just saying . . . there’s nothing toxic in this cleanser. It’s actually vegan for anyone interested.
Antioxidant rich, this cleanser is a good pick if you have normal skin and want to address dryness, pores, firmness and elasticity. I personally love that it’s chock full of all my faves: kale, spinach, green tea and alfalfa.
Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask
Serously, don’t get scared off at mere mention of “charcoal” (or “peel off”, for that matter). This is legit. Charcoal is all the rage right now and rightly so . . . it has detoxifying, purifying and brightening qualities. In other words, this mineral-rich miracle mask will help visibly shrink pores, reduce redness, and strip away dead skin and impurities. Oh, and did I mention? No yuckies: parabans, sulfates or phthalates.
Herbivore Moon Fruit Superfruit Night Treatment
I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan of multi-tasking. If I can do something while I’m sleeping, even better. Case in point with this night treatment that not only feeds your skin with superfruits, it also gently resurfaces your skin courtesy of fruit enzymes and . . . hydrates it with a blend of exotic butters and hyaluronic acid. Um, yeah . . . sign me up!
Best news: not unlike the other two products above, Herbivore’s product line is free of nasty ingredients. Truly natural, vegan and cruelty-free, they contain no synthetic dyes, fragrances, chemical additives, toxins or synthetic preservatives. BTW, if you are wondering how they get the lovely lilac hue here . . . the answer is, indigo root power which happens to be a natural anti-inflammatory!
Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream
Puffy, dark circles dragging your eyes down? Unfortunately, I can relate. Not to worry, with the help of magical ingredients like coffee beans, panax ginseng and magnolia extract, your tired eyes will go bye-bye . . . in the blink of an eye!
Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm
Kissable lips? Mwah to that and this product, too! Of course, if that’s not enough to love . . . how about also having lips that are plump and youthful without . . . toxic ingredients which, let’s face it . . . you’re going to end up eating. We know, we know . . . xo!
