The Great  Hat  Hunt

Date: May 27, 2018

I love shopping . . . I mean, how couldn’t I when I work in The Great Indoors and all the shopping variety it has to offer! But one person who isn’t big on shopping, is my husband. Don’t get me wrong, he is a kid at heart and loves to browse Toys R Us and then get his music and movie fix at Sunrise Records . . . but you cannot take that man clothes shopping worth anything!

So, it was to my surprise the other day when he woke up and told me that he needed to go shopping for a new hat. For him, hats are a staple fashion accessory. Usually, I oversee dressing him for all occasions that require more than just a t-shirt and jeans, but he will always have the final say on the hat he is wearing. Whether it’s his favorite sports team branded, or a stylish golfer’s cap, he always makes a statement. So, on this faithful shopping day, I thought to myself, “how hard could this new hat be to find?” . . . harder than I could have ever expected, I’ll tell you that much. We were going from one store to the next as he tried on all the stylish hats that Bower Place has to offer, and he simply could not find one that was perfect for him, whether it was the colour, fabric, size, or what have you, the man could not find the hat of his dreams.

Then, when we thought all hope was lost, we found ourselves in Hudson’s Bay . . . low and behold, the perfect hat was found (and on sale too . . . score!!). Really, I should have given him more credit, even though he may not care that his jeans are name brand, or that his jacket is “in style”, the man loves his hats and will stop at nothing to find the perfect one!

The hat he ended up choosing was this one from London Fog brand out of Hudson’s Bay. Not only does it work for fancy occasions (summer wedding’s anyone?), but also to cover a bad hair day and still look like you’ve got everything together!
