Warm Up With a Hot  Cup

Date: January 21, 2022

I don’t know about you, but this bone-chillingly COLD weather (especially after taking up Winter hiking recently) has me craving ALL the hot drinks. In addition to my morning coffee, I find I need a warm drink mid-afternoon to finish my day strong, especially when the snow is piling up outside.

Shoot for the Star-bucks

It’s a tradition for me and my bestie to stop at Starbucks before road trips (or going anywhere together, really). She gets her Caramel Macchiato or chai tea; I get my go-tos (see below), maybe with a birthday cake pop on the side. It doesn’t matter the time of day (that’s what decaf is for); we’ll find an excuse to go there together. When you head to Starbucks to try my faves, don’t forget to collect your stars!

I recently tried the Pistachio Latte for the first time (which is now back on the menu!), and I absolutely loved the subtle flavour.

One of my first tastes of Starbucks a long time ago was the Chai Tea Latte, and I haven’t looked back; it’s still one of my go-to’s! Over time I’ve adapted my love of chai to use dairy alternatives, iced in the Summer, and sometimes with an extra shot of flavour.

Around the Holidays, I’ll go for a Peppermint Mocha if I’m feeling festive.

And lastly, I first tried a Matcha Tea Latte as study fuel in college and have been loving it ever since. The colour is also so pretty.

My Cup of Tea (Kettle)

I try to mix in a cup of green tea a day – it gives me a subtle caffeine boost without feeling like I’m having a caffeine overload.

Psssst! You can feel good about your daily green tea. According to health.com, here’s one of the main benefits . . .

“Green tea contains polyphenol antioxidants that reduce inflammation in the body, a known trigger of premature aging. These antioxidants also proactively protect cells from damage that can lead to a number of chronic illnesses, making it a superfood that offers a broad range of health protection.” Cynthia Sass, MPH, RD, Health (Follow Her on Twitter)

T. Kettle has a variety of flavoured green teas, including strawberry shortcake, raspberry coconut, strawberry sencha, and grapevine.

On the (Sunterra) Market

Perhaps you’re more of a coffee gal. I would suggest checking out Sunterra Market’s coffee bar STAT (right beside The Children’s Place) and getting yourself a delish cup of LavAzza coffee. This company was started in Italy in 1895 and was chosen after searching for nearly five years for the best coffee to serve to Sunterra Market’s guests (read more about this journey on Sunterra Market’s website). So, you can be assured it’s delicious.

Perhaps you’re wanting to take the delish taste home? You can even purchase LavAzza Nespresso capsules! Be sure to add this to your cart during your next grocery shopping spree at Sunterra Market.
