Products  That  Carried Me  Through 2021

Date: December 30, 2021

We made it through another year – and what a year it was! I’d like to give thanks to a few trusty products that made my busy mornings easier, without stating the obvious ones, like coffee and dry shampoo (#baristasandBatiste – am I right?). Here are my holy grail products from 2021.

Shoppers Drug Mart
Benefit Cosmetics
They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara

My bestie recommended this one to me, and I loved it. The applicator has a spiky tip that helps you get into the corners of your lashes with precision.

To really make my lashes pop, I smudge a dark brown eyeliner pencil into my upper lash line and blend it with an angled brush to soften it up.

p.s.: I still love you, Too Faced.

Sephora
The Ordinary
Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%

I cannot rave enough about The Ordinary. Their products are SO affordable. You just need to learn which products can be safely mixed and when to use them (Psssst! Retinols at NIGHT, friends!!!).

I apply this one to my face before bed, and it leaves my skin glowing and soft when I wake up in the morning. Swoooon.

Life hack: mix this cream with a dime-size amount of The Ordinary’s hyaluronic acid and pat the silky concoction on your skin for a smooth, hydrating experience.

Sephora
Smashbox
Smashbox X Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter

This one is a staple in my makeup kit.

In my opinion, our (clean) fingers are our greatest assets when it comes to makeup application. I apply this one using my ring finger to the tops of my cheekbones for a radiant look, and sometimes within the inner corner of my eyes. It has a pretty, soft gold glow that works with all skin tones.

For the ultimate glow-y, natural look, I’ve been using the Clarins Water Lip Stain as a blush (because there are no rules with beauty in my books). This can be found at Shoppers Drug Mart.

Sephora
Urban Decay
Stay Naked Correcting Concealer

I felt like Glam Goldilocks for a long time. I was on the hunt for a concealer that was just right – always searching for something that was blendable but didn’t smear right off during the day (I’m sure anyone with oily skin understands my struggle).

This concealer lasts up to 24 hours, and just a little bit packs a big punch of pigment.

To complete my base, I combine this concealer with Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer (also from Sephora), applied using a kabuki brush. The tinted moisturizer is well, very moisturizing, so I like to mattify it by setting my t-zone with Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Setting Powder.

Sephora
Juliette has a gun
Not a Perfume

When you know, you know. That’s how I felt about this fragrance (the nose knows). I absolutely love the fresh, woodsy scent of this one.

And don’t get me started on travel perfumes – they are just too convenient to stash in your purse or desk if you’re always on the go. Although, I did go through this one very quickly because I loved it so much – so maybe I’ll snag a larger format next time. 😉
