Sun's Out, Sunnies Out!

It finally looks like our weather is changing for the better, and we have our fingers crossed (on both hands!) that the days for drinks on the patio and fun in the sun are right around the corner. Sunglasses are the staple spring and summer accessory – with shapes, sizes and colours to compliment every occasion from road trips to beach vacays to casual shopping days, there’s something chic and unique for every style personality.

Here are just some of my favorite eye-catching trends for this season that I eyed while shopping at Sunglass Hut inside Bower Place:

Sport and Shield: Mixing sport with chic, these styles are large and in charge. Mimicking sports goggles and athleisure, these frames are meant to cover much of the face, giving you ample sun protection.

Seeing Red: Giving off major 50’s glam vibes, red frames are perfect for those looking to stand out with bold colored frames this season.

Go Big or Go Home: Square lenses are timeless. You can use them to shield your face on days when eye makeup was just too much trouble, and know that you will look fashionable without trying too hard.

Round and Round: With a uniquely glamorous style, round sunglasses are making a comeback from the groovy 60’s in a variety of frames and colours.

Meow: Cat eye sunglasses hold a retro charm, and they are perfect for elongating the face and emphasizing the cheekbones.

Ready For Take Off: You can’t go wrong with a classic pair of aviators. But what if you want to stray from the classic? These fresh styles take the frames you love and kick them up a notch!

Category Not Found: Some new sunglasses trends don’t fit into any category because they were just that innovative! Designers played fast and loose with traditional eyewear shapes and created fascinating variations for the Avant-garde fashionista in everyone.
